FAQ about this page

How are the tags generated?
First I extract all the content from each post and pass it through the Yahoo Content Analysis API. That returns a list of candidate tags which I screen for excluded tags in my database, and for tags shorter than 4 chacaters. Finally I use a database to collate all the tags for each post, count the number of occurances of each tag, and produce a couple of xml files that form the basis of the tag cloud.

What's the significance of the size of the tag?
Simply, the bigger the tag, the more posts are tagged with it, and so indicates the prominence of that topic / tag on my site.
