BBC Touch - How in touch are the BBC?

About

Please note that BBC Touch is no longer being maintained, and that the main BBC Touch page is now static and will no longer be updated.

This site shows how “in touch” the BBC News editorial team are with the general public, by comparing the top 10 headlines on the BBC News front page with the 10 most popular (most read) stories on the BBC News web site. Whilst the BBC editorial team should never strive to match the two lists (as they are afterall employed to decide what they think is most newsworthy) it is an interesting way to look at the data and see what really interests the general public. In order to further help identify what we are reading about versus what the BBC think we should be reading about are subjects (tags, keywords, call them what you like) that are automatically extracted from the headlines.
